Bangkok Transit Before Hong Kong

The other day, I followed Boo to Hong Kong, but because the flight from AUH-HKG was full, I had to use another route.

So, I left in the morning from AUH-BKK with EY, with ID 90 J class ticket. The flight was very light. And I got into BKK around evening 6pm. Then I went up to TG counter to check if I need to list myself for HKG flight tomorrow morning. But I think we were lost in translation, she didn't really understand what I said and I didn't really understand what she said.

It was hilarious actually.

Me: Hi, I am on staff ticket and I will be on TG to HKG tomorrow. Do I need to list myself before the flight?
Her: Hong Kong?? No Hong Kong flight now.
Me: Lol, ya, I know. I mean for tomorrow.
Her: (insert Thai accent) Ohhhh, tomolo? Then you check-in tomolo.
Me: Ok, but do I need to list myself? Or am I already in the system?
Her: You come to check-in counter tomato.
Me: So I don't need to list myself? I am already listed?
Her: (turning to her colleague) List? What is list?
Me: I am on zed ticket, from EY.
Her: Ok, you come tomolo.
Me: Can you check if I am already in the system? (pass her my itinerary)
Her: (checking on her computer with the biggest brow furrow) Ok, you come check-in tomolo.

So, at the end, I don't know if I am already in the system, or she thinks that I am stupid for wanting to "check-in" now for a flight that is departing tomorrow. Anyhoo, I went down to 4th floor Boots, bought a big bottle of water and then went to 2nd floor to wait for my hotel shuttle bus.

The bus runs every hour. So I was pretty lucky that I only had to wait about 15mins. Once I got into the hotel and after check-in, I was assisted by the bell boy with my luggage. There is no lifts in this hotel, but I guess it's pretty ok. My room was on the 3rd floor, and he carried the heavier luggage. After checking out my quaint little hotel room, which was like sooooooooo small. Seriously. But it's cute for a 12hour layover I guess.

I changed and walked out. My hotel is actually located behind a row of shops, that is next to the main road. This area is called Lat Krabang.

And I stumbled upon this massage shop that has big writing saying, "Massage, no sex". Lol. Sounds legit. Let's go in. And this was probably one of the best massage I have ever had. She kept insisting I take the oil massage (1hr for 500 bahts). But I didn't really want to feel icky. So I said no. And then she pushed me to do 2 hours of Thai massage. Ok, I will take that. 2 hours for 500 bahts. I guess she really want to make that 500.

So she started off by "checking my bones". That was like something so totally new to me. It was as though she was a chinese medicine doctor "tit da". She cracked possibly all 212 bones in my body. Twist and turn and tuck and pull. It was madness. I was totally caught off guard because I thought checking meant touching and feeling and not like, PULLING! But yeah, that was good because it totally loosen up my tensed up body. And she said I had good bones. Yay!

That 2-hour massage was really really good. I felt rejuvenated after and till today, my bones are feeling good. And I even vlogged about it, and she made a special appearance in my vlog as well :)

After that, I went across the road for dinner of tom yum goong. It was really good. However, there were too many mosquitoes somehow in that shop and it was somehow getting humid as well? I don't know, maybe it's because I just got out of an air-conditioned place.

So after dinner, I walked back to my room. Hoping that the dogs I saw earlier were no longer there. I am still afraid of dogs, no matter how big or small they are. I was bitten by dog when I was younger.

Then I showered and tried to sleep. But I was tossing and turning for 3 hours before I decided to give up on sleeping. I got up, edited my video for about an hour before I started to get ready for my flight to Hong Kong.

So yeah, that was my short 12hour trip in Bangkok. Technically, at an airport hotel. But it was good fun and it's so different to be in an area away from the hustle and bustle of the urban area. And I felt so independent. Lol. Ya...
