Since I left EY in May, I have been lucky enough to continue travelling. Thank you, Boo!
Why did I choose to join aviation back in 2007? Actually, I guess it has always been a dream to don a flight attendant uniform, strut down the aisle looking pretty, walk about airport being admired.
I still remember when I was young, whenever someone travels, the ENTIRE family will go to the airport to send this VIP off. I am sure many families do the same. Because back then, being in a giant tin can that can fly is actually something only the privileged were able to do. But nowadays, EVERYONE can fly. Not promoting for any airlines here.
The first time I was in an airplane was possibly in 1998. I followed my family (grand aunt, aunties, uncle and cousins) on a tour to Yunnan, China. I can't recall much on the aircraft nor the airline we took, but I remembered transiting in Bangkok. It was an 8-day tour (I think) and I have never missed my parents so much. First time being away from the nest for so long maaa...
And then in 2001, I flew to Kuching for tennis MSSM tournament. And believe it or not, I was so curious if I was a passenger on Boo's flight, so he checked his log book and OH MY GOD. It is quite possible that my family and I, all 5 of us, were passengers on his KCH-KUL flight on 31 May 2001. It was meant to be. Love. Fate. 💖😍💖
The 3rd time I flew out of KUL was in 2005, when I was given the opportunity to complete my internship in Busan, South Korea. I think we did quite a number of transit. KUL-BKK-ICN-GMP-PUS. Somehow when we reached Busan, we were still energetic. Yeah, I forgot, we were still 21-year-old young. Excited.
I really enjoyed these flights. And I hardly slept in the aircraft because I was so mesmerised by the flight attendants. Lol, not that kinda creepy fascination. More of admiration. I was so sure myself that I will never become one of them because I will become an office lady. That's the path that is already laid out. Boring.
But somehow, I guess fate took another turn and landed me a job in aviation. A good 9 years plus of it. I loved it from day 1. Being able to travel the globe, experiencing different weather, culture, people, food, hotels, etc. Some days could be better but it is all part and parcel of any jobs. Thank you for bringing me to so many places that I could have ever imagined.
So now that I am retired, I still want to continue exploring as much as I can. Live life to the fullest. Travel when you are still young because you still have the energy and guts to do it. Adrenaline. Curiosity. Exploration.
Just a snippet of the places I have been since May 2006.
