No Alcohol - Phuket Edition

I have kept the post title empty as I am typing now. Normally, I will have a topic in mind. Actually, I had a few topics in mind the past few days. And I usually jot them down type them in my phone. But now, I am scrolling my phone, and it's amazing how I don't understand some of the "key words" I put in there. Like, there's one that says "itchy palms."

I am trying to decipher this "itchy palm". It could mean any of the followings:
1. Money is coming in (this is such an Asian belief)
2. I didn't wash my hands properly that day
3. Was I bitten by mosquitoes?
4. Should I go see a palm reader and for him to tell me my future?
5. ...

No idea, man. So I will keep that in the note and go for the next one.

We just got back from a 2 weeks leave. We first went to Phuket. And it was amazing. We were there for 4 days and we learnt a little something more about Thailand. It was Wesak day on the 10th of May and all the pubs and bars and even 7-11 were not allowed to sell alcohol that day. We knew about this when we went up to the hotel pool and there was a note that says something like this, "In respect of the holy celebration of Wesak, we will not be serving any alcohol today. Thank you for your understanding."

When we went out for dinner, we stopped by 7-11 to buy some stuffs and saw that the alcohol section of the fridge was covered. After dinner, we walked along Bangla Road, and it was quiet! Lol. This is the 2nd time that we have seen it this quiet. The first time was last year when the King passed away.

We popped by a bar and we ordered Ginger Ale and Tonic Water instead. There were only 2 pubs with bands playing. We were informed that the "night" will only start at 12 midnight. We didn't wait until then. We were already too tired from the activities during the day. I can't recall what we did, but we were tired. We were back in the hotel by 10pm and at around 11.30pm we started hearing music blasting from Bangla Road.

We stayed at Sleep With Me hotel again this time. This little, cute, boutique hotel at Patong. We love staying in this hotel because of its location. It is very central. 2 mins from Jungceylon Mall. 3 mins from Bangla Road. 8 mins from Patong Beach.

This trip we actually did not do much. It rained 2 out of the 4 days we were there. But we made the most out of it. We still went to the beach. We went to the pool, 3x. We went to the mall.  We had massages. We went to Bangla Road. We had good food. We.... relaxed 💖💖
